Cathie Beck is an award-winning author and Denver journalist. Her debut memoir, Cheap Cabernet: A Friendship (Hyperion), sold at auction after drawing interest from 27 publishers. It became a #1 Amazon Mover & Shaker and a five-time Denver Post bestseller and was a finalist for the Books for a Better Life Award. Her forthcoming memoir, Holy Hustle: An East Side Indy Love Story, traces a childhood spent moving through twelve houses before the age of seventeen. She’s been a feature writer for the Denver Post, and a Rocky Mountain News books reviewer, and her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Poets & Writers Magazine, and Glimmer Train Stories, among others. It was named a finalist for both the Books for a Better Life Award and the Women’s National Book Association Great Group Reads, and took first place in non-fiction from the Denver Women’s Press Club.
Her forthcoming work returns to where she started. Holy Hustle: An East Side Indy Love Story chronicles a 1960s–70s Indianapolis childhood spent moving through twelve houses before the age of seventeen — a story of class, instability, resourcefulness and wild humor.
